Atsumi League

At last Atsumi is going to be able to make a league for its students. Right now the new software is being experimented, and rules are also being thought.

As far as the spirit goes, students are not forced to play at all, if they dont want. Theres no minimum of games, or maximum. Its just a space to play other Atsumi students and get a track record of the games, which will later be commented on the Study groups.

The goal of the league is not to seek who is strongest or who did better, but to provide for a great teaching experience, and material to work on on lectures. Playing all the games is not mandatory but there will be a prize for the one with most games played as shown in the league.

The league will be exclusive for Atsumi students and the rules would be the following (subject to changes and additions!) :

*Time : 30 min main time + 30 sec (5 periods). Note: this is flexible to both players, although larger time settings allow for more thought games, where its easy to mark things for improvement.

*Handicap: Kgs automatic handicap. Current ranks used are good enough. Again, if the students prefer to play even games instead of using handicap stones, they are allowed.

*Prize for most games played: 2 hours of  free private lessons with Gabriel Benmergui(a.k.a. Danigabi).

If you want to sign up, send an email to atsumigoschool@gmail.com or even better, leave a message or chat with Danigabi. The tables are on the making, sign up soon!

Study groups are going to change dramatically (For the better!)

After several months of testing and execution, at Atsumi we realized that the service could improve a lot.

Some of the problems we experienced were TimeZone confusions and too much rank/division. Also because the groups were so far appart, students usually couldnt take advantage of more than one group.

As a solution for the above we are working towards transforming the rigid Study group divisons into a more casual, fun&learning oriented activity. This means forgetting about all the class divisions (famous A, B, C,D groups).

Instead, we will have a teacher on call for 6 hours straight on sundays. Once you are subscribed to the service, you can exploit the teachers for all you want!. Simultaneous, lectures, game-reviews, problem solving, all will be done the same, and at demand of the students and how the teachers see fit.

This way you can get more than 20 hours of teaching for the same modest fee of 25 dollars!

This 6 hour teaching frenzy would be located at the afternoon for both US and Europe (15-21 GMT ).

What do you guys think? leave a comment or even better, send an email to atsumigoschool@gmail.com for questions, opinions suggestions or plain old cursing.
